One of the most exciting and enriching experiences for our 5th graders is Exploring New Horizons Outdoor Education. This year, our Hearst students will attend camp in late October, and the cost per student is $445, which includes food and lodging. Bus transportation is funded by PPIE donations, in collaboration with Black Tie Transportation. The Exploring New Horizons curriculum, aligned with the California State Standards, focuses on three strands:
- Nature Appreciation and Understanding
- Cooperation and Teamwork
- Citizenship and Empowerment
Additionally, if you request employer matching for your Outdoor Ed donation, please have the check mailed to Hearst Elementary School at 5301 Case Avenue, Pleasanton, CA 94566, and request in the note section that funds are for 5th-grade outdoor education.
